Thumrait is a small town in southern Oman, notable for its Royal Air Force of Oman Air Base which is where Scott went to several times during the year. Scott didn't find anything interesting or unique or nice there. In fact, I think he hated going there.
I tried to find attractions or history of Thumrait, but there doesn't seem to be much out there! I guess it's not a fabulous tourist place!
